How to view Alexa traffic details, by day

While checking the stats on Linkie Winkie (see previous post Linkie Winkie is dead..) I stumbled across (while Googling) how to view Alexa Traffic Statistics for a single month, instead of the standard 3 month or 6 month views that are available by clicking on the traffic-ranking graphs that Alexa provides. Today, while checking how GrownUpGeek.com’s stats compare to ‘real’ sites, I took it one step further and found how to view stats by days.
I don’t know if viewing Alexa stats by days is a closely guarded secret, or if it’s plastered all over the internet. And frankly, I’m too lazy to go find out on my own. So here, without any further delay is how it’s done. If you find it helpful, please post a comment so that I know the 4 minutes of my life I burned making this post was not a complete waste.
By default, Alexa displays the last 6 months of data when viewing traffic details. You can switch the view to 3 months, or 1-2 years by clicking the options at the top of the graph:
To change the view to one month do the following:
- Click on the 3-month view
- the address bar, find the “3m” and change it to “1m”
To view Alexa rankings by day:
Ok, here is where it gets tricky. While viewing either a 3 month view, or a 1 month view, find either the 1m or 3m in the address bar (yeah, just like in the previous step).. Now, change the 1m or 3m to the number of days you want to see followed by a “d” - so for a 3 day view, change the 1m (or 3m) to 3d, like so:

After you make the change press “GO” (on Internet Explorer or Firefox) to load the new URL. You should now be viewing a graph of the last 3 days of Alexa traffic statistics.
Easy, huh? “Why didn’t I think of that“, you’re probably asking yourself, right? Well, this is what separates normal people like you from lazy slobs sitting on the couch all night while surfing the web - like me..
