Drupal is still faster!
I am still amazed at how much of a difference de-activing the user-avatars has made. Below are some screenshots of the daily-average CPU usage on the server before I made the change, the day I made the change, and after the change.

Since disabling the avatars in Drupal, average CPU usage has dropped from the mid 40% range to the 8% range. Members at the site have commented on how much faster the site responds now, and I am still amazed at the difference. I know that I’ve already posted this two other times, but the drastic difference warrants the extra posts.
