Drupal Blog Module

Enables keeping an easily and regularly updated web page or a blog.

The Drupal Blog module allows all users (with permissions) to own their own personal blog. It’s not intended for creating a single Drupal “blogging site” – for that you should either use this method, or use something like WordPress.

We enabled the Drupal Blog module on a limited “test” basis about a year-and-a-half ago making it available to our Premium Members by request only. In an attempt to give a bit more value to our Premium Members we finally gave personal blogs to all premium members at the end of June this year. It’s easy to define who can or who cannot have a blog by assigning the proper permission in the Access Control panel by first creating a ‘role‘, then giving that role the “edit own blog” permission. In our case, we simply assigned this permission to the “Premium Member” role.

Giving members their own blog allows them to create more original content for the site and adds just a tiny bit more ‘value’ for the members.

One time I tried out drupal on a content site i was making. It integrates will with vbulletin, but compared to making a wordpress theme, theme design for drupal is a nightmare.
